Leonie Tansey named Managing Director for IMS Marketing, a LOCOMOTIVE Agency.

There has been much excitement within IMS Marketing, a LOCOMOTIVE Agency lately with the appointment of Leonie Tansey as our new Managing Director.  

Leonie has also been appointed to the role of SVP of European Operations at IMS Marketing’s parent company, LOCOMOTIVE. With an extensive international background in marketing and business development, Leonie will be responsible for driving growth and strategic direction for both entities. 


LOCOMOTIVE Agency Acquires IMS Marketing

In 2023, Oranmore-based IMS Marketing was acquired by US digital marketing firm, LOCOMOTIVE.

Since our inception, we have supported countless export-focused B2B businesses in Ireland and Europe to succeed with their overseas expansion. We do this by providing bespoke B2B marketing strategies and tactics that include integrated brand and digital marketing implementations. This is now strengthened with LOCOMOTIVE’s award-winning expertise in SEO services and digital advertising techniques.

Following the acquisition of IMS Marketing by LOCOMOTIVE, we announced the creation of 20 new jobs in Ireland to support our expanded transatlantic activities. As our team grows, a strong focus for Leonie will be to develop a top-tier, remote-first culture that inspires team members, regardless of where they are, to reach their highest potential.

International Experience Meets a Strategic Mind

Leonie Tansey’s career to date has been a varied, exciting one.  

Her experience includes leadership roles in branding, marketing, and digital marketing in Ireland and New Zealand. Before joining IMS Marketing as a Client Manager in 2014, Leonie worked as a B2B Marketing Manager at software company, Enerit. She also worked with Supermac’s as a Brand Manager where she managed the brand introduction of Papa John’s Pizza to more than 25 locations in Ireland. 

Regarding her education, Leonie has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a master’s in business studies from the University of Ireland, Galway. She also holds a Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School and a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute. 


Growth is the Goal of Leonie’s New Role

In her new role, Leonie Tansey is responsible for the mutual growth of IMS Marketing, a LOCOMOTIVE Agency, using their respective client bases in Europe and the US to help each other, and their clients, to grow.  

Leonie has begun to oversee the seamless integration of IMS Marketing and LOCOMOTIVE’s services, ensuring that clients in Ireland and the US receive a unified and comprehensive service experience. To guarantee that the services offered are consistently at the forefront of the industry, Leonie is nurturing the company’s reputation for innovation while also exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance this.

Kevin Moran Becomes Director of Global Sales Strategy

In addition to Leonie’s appointment, IMS Marketing founder Kevin Moran will continue to focus on the growth of the Irish business as well as the US business, both domestically and internationally, albeit in a new role. Taking on the position of Director of Global Sales Strategy, Kevin will build on his success with IMS. Since founding the company in 2007, Kevin has grown IMS into a business of more than 30 people, helping 100+ active clients to enter more than 20 international markets.
